Upcoming Not to Miss Spring Concerts in Keystone

We are nearing the end of the ski season, but there is no shortage of great concerts and events coming up to finish out the season!

 

Tomorrow, March 23
The Lil Smokies at Warren Station
Don’t be fooled by their ‘acoustic’ title, The Lil Smokies bring an electric energy to the stage that is sure to get you moving with their bluegrass rock beats.  The Lil Smokies have won various awards including the 2015 Telluride Bluegrass Band Competition and the 2016 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year award.  Catch them this Saturday night, March 23 at Warren Station in River Run Village at Keystone Ski Resort. Doors open at 7:30 pm. The opener, The Lonesome Days will be playing from 8 – 8:45 and then The Lil Smokies hit the stage from 9:30 – 11:15 pm. Tickets are $25 in advance online. 

 

Thursday, March 28
G. Love and Special Sauce at Warren Station
Back for year 2 at Warren Station, G. Love and Special Sauce will be bringing their 25 years of experience to the stage on March 28. This iconic band has an eclectic style that will please all audiences! Unique for this show is the special ‘Pre-Show Pop Off’ which the ticket includes early entry to a special pre-show performance, group photo on the stage, an autographed poster and a Q & A session with G. Love! Tickets for the general show are $30 in advance or $35 at the door if available. Tickets for the main show plus the ‘Pre-Show Pop Off’ are $99.  General doors at 7 pm, at 8 pm the opener Ben Sparaco and The New Effect come on, with G.Love and Special Sauce beginning at 9:15 pm.

Denver soul-funk band with New Orleans rock roots will be bringing down the house at The Snake River Saloon on March 30, a cover charge may apply.

 

Saturday, April 6
Tim O’Brien Band at Warren Station
Sending off the ski season with a bang, Tim O’Brien Band will be taking over Warren Station over the closing weekend at Keystone.  Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Tim O’Brien brings a lot to the stage, with a focus on old-time and bluegrass tunes.  Tickets are just $20 in advance online. Doors open at 8 pm and the show starts at 9 pm on Saturday, April 6. Stay the weekend and ski on Sunday, April 7 which is the closing day! Then catch the Keystone Slush Cup Pond Skim from 12 – 3 pm.

Head for the Hills This Weekend in Keystone

Spring in the high country is a great time to visit, with beautiful weather, fun events, and tons of great live music! If you are looking for some local Colorado music to liven up your weekend, look no further than Head for the Hills, performing at Warren Station Center for the Arts this Saturday, March 12th in Keystone’s River Run Village. Described as the ‘epitome of Colorado Bluegrass’, this band brings a modern twist to the genre.  They were tagged ‘Best in Colorado Bluegrass’ by the Westword Showcase Reader’s Poll. This is not the band’s first visit to Keystone, they performed an incredible New Year’s Eve show to ring in 2015 and they are back for more good times here in 2016! Locals and visitors alike will enjoy a fun night of great music and dancing.  Free parking for the event is available in the Montezuma Skier Parking lot just near the venue.

Head for the Hills performs a mixture of original songs and popular covers sure to please all audiences. They are self described as “Pop-infused newgrass murder ballads and urbane lyricism.” Their latest album is a combination of “bluegrass, jazz, hip-hop and indie rock into songs inspired by love and misery and comic books.” You won’t want to miss this fun performance! Doors open at 8pm and the show starts at 9pm, at Warren Station, in River Run in Keystone. Tickets are $15 in advance, or $18 the day of if they are still available. Saturdays at the Stations Brings The Motet with guest Euforquestra

The Colorado funk band, The Motet, will be playing at Keystone’s Warren Station this weekend on Saturday, March 15th for another edition of Saturdays at the Station which bring live music to Keystone Saturdays throughout the month of March.  The Motet recently released their 7th album on January 25th and are ready to celebrate by bringing the funk to Keystone.  A bright horn section, layered rhythms, and spunky front man all contribute to the outstanding live performances put on by this must-see band.  Their shows consistently sell out; especially their Halloween Shows in which they play ‘musical costumes’ and perform catalogs from The Talking Heads, Earth Wind and Fire, Parliament, and Prince.  Their unique sound style really encourages people to get funky and move on the dance floor.

The opening band, Euforquestra is sure to start the night off right with their fun and upbeat global dance beat sounds.  Tickets for the show are $18 in advance or just $20 at the door.  Music starts at 8pm and the doors open at 7pm. The Travelin’ McCourys & String Cheese Incident’s Bill Nershi Visit Keystone March 14, 2014

The Travelin’ McCourys featuring Bill Nershi of the String Cheese Incident with Pert’ Near Sandstone will be playing at Keystone’s Warren Station on Friday, March 14th.

The band hails from Nashville, Tennessee, comprised of three sons of the Bluegrass legend, Del McCoury as well as a few other members. The band has played with other legends such as the Allman Brothers, Warren Haynes, Yonder Mountain String Band and Phish!  These unique live collaborations are truly where the band really shines, deemed as one of the best bluegrass bands in the world by both critics and musicians across the United States.
